RECENT PRIOR SEASONS

Our fall 2022 concert, Common Threads: Where the Light Begins, was a musical exploration of the experiences that bring us together as a community. The concert featured amazing selections that the chorus loves to sing. Selections included:

Morten Lauridsen's "Sure on this Shining Night"

    Eric Whitacre's "Glow"

The exhilarating "Tiger" by Lauren Bernofsky

"I'm a Train," a zippy favorite from The King's Singers

Our Sine Nomine spring 2022 concert, We Dream A World,

celebrated the diversity highlighted by the trailblazers and the ground-breakers who went before us—the Rosa Parks, the Billie Jean Kings, the Harvey Milks, the Ruby Bridges, the Marsha P. Johnsons, and thousands of others who dedicated themselves to achieving  a world of goodness, and equality. Songs included Alway Something Sings, Ballade to the Moon, Desh, Dirait-On, Earth Song, I Dream a World, Lamentations of Jeremiah, and Unclouded Day.

After an 18 months of a COVID hiatus, Sine Nomine' shared their 2021 return to the stage with Sage Singers. Both groups recognized that the spirit desperately wants to sing. The concert celebrated that, when some go to sing, some want to hear the song. Sine Nomine began 2021 with a wonderful new Artistic Director, Dolhathai "Kloy" Intawong. Songs for the concert included Dies Irae, You Find Yourself Here, Ezekiel, How Can I Keep From Singing, and Sing Gently.

Sine Nomine's Fall 2019 concert, “Frost,” communicated two ideas, one thematic and the other pragmatic.  From the practical view, the concert tested out possible selections for the GALA Choruses Festival in Minneapolis in July, 2020.  There was a sense in this music of optimism during dark hours.  We all sense that darkness, and we appreciate it, but in it we seek warmth and hope. Here are some of the thoughts we had as we assembled the program.

Sine Nomine's 2019 spring concert presented a different take on Americana with a view of American music that included the words of immigrants, the voices of minorities and women, and compositions ranging from patriotism to protest.
